Susan Kare is an absolute legend, and should be worthy of all our—at least friends of Macintosh—hearts and thanks. What a thing to have had the privilege to get involved with all those years ago.

Susan Kare has self published her first book where all the above and more are discussed, Susan Kare – Icons.

Luminance is fast becoming my main go-to application for the tweaking of photograph’s on my iPhone. It has a wealth of controls that just beats Camera+ fair and square.

It was never an expensive app in the first place, but if you need a gentle nudge then grab it now.

Not usually bothered with custom background images, but took a flight of fancy with WallpapersHD last night, and found this nice Apple logo background.

Shame there are no designer credits visible for each download, so I can’t properly attribute this image for now.

Can’t believe I have not seen this before. Although Noah pushing it just a little bit right at the end. And why haven’t I heard of Pirates Of Silicon Valley before as well? I am so  not in the loop sometimes.

So Noah Wyle for the movie role?

After finding PopClip on MinimalMac I have quickly grown to like this tiny, but useful, Macintosh application.

Something very intuitive about selecting text and this tiny little PopClip appearing. It also quickly disappears if you select text accidentally and don’t need to do anything with it, so it doesn’t get in the way.

Features of PopClip

Cut, copy & paste, fast. No need to right-click, or use keyboard shortcuts.

Search the web. Search Google for the selected text, with one click.

Open links. If you select text containing a URL or email address, PopClip can open it for you.

Spelling and dictionary.Access dictionary definitions and spelling corrections, in any app.

Demo and purchase PopClip http://pilotmoon.com/popclip/

Designed by Sylvain Willenz, the MATT collection comprises desktop storage items and pockets for portable devices.

Made in black soft plastisol, with a unique and surprising rubber quality touch.

Something about look, and idea, of these MATT cases makes me want the whole collection. The iPhone MATT case is available for €19.

Other cases available as below.

Update: Seems only to work with pre Lion installs.

I agree with Jay Robinson—image above also courtesy of Jay—that the monochromatic icons seem to blur into one whereas the original colour icons were much easier focus and select.

You do need to run SIMBL in order to run this hack as well as other plist and bundle tweaks.

Really love this Steve Jobs Caricature by Marco Calcinaro. You can still see that intensity in his eyes even whilst smiling, and the red apple with the floating leaf is simply magic.

Came across this just after the tragic news of Steve’s passing, so felt a little too soon to be posting anything remotely humorous even if it’s all in good spirits.

What the fuck has Jon Ive been doing for the last two year? Fingerpainting with his poo?

This had me in stitches and is one of the funniest Hilter memes I have seen for a while. I for one am very happy the iPhone 4 is sticking around; I just love that design.
