Inspiration

ThisisCollate defies the usual thumbnail grid based gallery style and opts for full page design inspiration.

Collate isn’t updated like 1000 times a day, but check back every day or so and you should find something new.

I just love the slow, perfectly smooth and methodical scroll slide up/down of the web page just like a perfectly designed and constructed drawer, loo seat, cassette tape cover, car door etc.

Average Font from moritz resl on Vimeo.

Moritz took all 900 fonts installed on his system overlaying each font over the other with low opacity. The best bit of this project is the resulting animation which is best viewed via his original post: Average Font

A wonderful collection of posters depicting each of the planets based on information available circa 1965. Each planet poster is also typset in a modern typeface of that era as well as being printed on unique coloured paper stock.

Only 7 seven hours to go at the time of publishing this post, so time yet to back the project. I am. :)

These posters will have a final cut size of 18” x 24” and be printed in Montreal. I chose to use thick 80 lb French Paper Speckletone series because of its quality and nostalgic look. Each planet will have its own paper color.

Each poster will have information about the planet that sets one apart from the other, as well as historic discoveries of what would have been known in 1965. All of which is set in beautiful and modern typefaces of that era.

Really enjoying the modern vintage work work by Patrick Macomber. Solid, clean and quite distinct in style with a good use of colour.  Some people just have it…

Researching for a new photography logo project, this post has some nice photography logo examples.

Seen quite a few blog post lists for photography logos, and to be honest, many of these examples are pretty poor and unimaginative.
